Targa Florio Classica – A Timeless Journey Through Sicily. Step back in time and experience one of the most evocative events in the world of classic motoring.
Held each October, this prestigious regularity rally celebrates the spirit of the original Targa Florio, the legendary Sicilian road race first run in 1906.
Organised by the Automobile Club Palermo, Automobile Club d’Italia and ACI Storico, the event is part of the Campionato Italiano Grandi Eventi and attracts an international field of classic car enthusiasts. Eligible entries include cars built up to 1978, each one a rolling piece of history.
Over the course of three unforgettable stages, participants cover more than 500 km of public roads, navigating precision timing sections while enjoying some of Sicily’s most breathtaking scenery. From the salt flats of Trapani and Marsala to the winding mountain roads of the Madonie circuit, the route blends coastal beauty with challenging, historic driving terrain.
The event begins and ends in the vibrant city of Palermo, with the grand finale taking place in Piazza Verdi, framed by the magnificent Teatro Massimo. Along the way, spectators line the streets, celebrating both the cars and the enduring legacy of this iconic race.
Whether you join as a competitor or a spectator, the Targa Florio Classica is more than just a rally – it is a living tribute to motorsport history, Sicilian culture and the enduring romance of the open road.

Eligibility: Classic cars built by 1978
Format: Regularity rally, approx. 500 km over three stages
We have a selection of FIVA “identity card” registered and approved cars which are eligible to enter the event.
All cars are race prepared with timing equipment and will be supplied to “arrive and drive” with a full support team during the race and a training session before the rally.
